Monday, August 22

We spent the entire day at Amazing Jake's with our homeschool group.  Emma was finally tall enough to drive the go-karts.  She didn't mind giving the shorter kids rides whenever they wanted one.

Sunday, August 21st

She is the best mom in the whole world!!  Cooper is pretty nice too.  I hate not seeing her more often.  I miss her so much!  I hope to be back to Austin soon.

Saturday, August 20th

The girls and I had a lovely day together!  We went to some of my favorite places in Austin (places I miss terribly).  After spending some time on Lake Austin, we headed to Zilker Park.  We enjoyed snow cones and rode the Zilker Zephyr (train).  Before leaving the park we cooled off in Barton Springs.  For dinner we went to one of my favorite restaurants in Austin, Casa de Luz (a macrobiotic, vegan, organic restaurant).  It was so good!  The girls loved it!  Then I took the girls to see the flagship Whole Foods.  It's definitely not the same as going to our laid back, little Whole Foods.  Our last stop was Book People before heading back to my mom's house.

Friday, August 19th

After shopping at the Waldorf School Store, the girls, my mom and I met up with the infamous Tommy Taylor at El Mercado for lunch!  He is one of my most favorite people on the planet, a long time friend, and Godfather to my kids.  It was a short lunch, but we'll take any bit of quality time with "Uncle Tommy" we can get!

Thursday, August 18th

Would you look at these beautiful girls?  We went with my mom, my brother-in-law Adam and his wife Darby, and my sweet nieces, Annalise and Samantha, to the Texas State History Museum.  Afterward we went to dinner at Magnolia Cafe to meet up with Judy.  It was a lovely afternoon!

Wednesday, August 17th

We got to meet Oliver!  I am in LOVE with him!!  I have never encountered an easier, happier baby in my life!  Emma was so proud of herself because she got him to fall asleep in her arms.  I didn't tell her, but I'm pretty sure this mellow guy would do that for anyone!

Tuesday, August 16th

The girls and I went to Austin to see family and friends.  On the way from my mom's house out to Judy's in Bee Cave we got to see Lake Travis (I have so many happy memories on that lake!).  The drought has really taken a toll.  I don't believe I have ever seen it that low!

Monday, August 15th

I have worked on the last four SAIL yearbooks and this year I worked on the 5th edition.  Unfortunately, every year it takes up almost all of my free time.  To make it a tad more stressful this year, I have experienced debilitating computer problems which has caused me to have to hand off some of the work I committed to complete to others.  I managed to make several pages, but not as many as I have done in the past.  I can't tell you how much my girls love their yearbooks!  The amazing end product and the joy these books bring to my children keep me on the SAIL yearbook staff year after year.

Sunday, August 14th

Yum!  Mom's Night Out was at Durkin's pizza...one of my favorites!

Our hibiscus plants by the front door always seem so happy!
